Joyce is a remarkably versatile leader whose career spans technology coordination, real estate, nutrition education, community development, and co-founding two social enterprises. She is a Purdue-certified Master Food Preserver and Master Gardener, and brings deep roots in urban agriculture, digital literacy, and nonprofit management to her role at MHPC.
Co-Founder & Programs Manager — Urban Patch LLC (2011–Present)
Creates and manages programs promoting education, self-sustainability, community development, environmental stewardship, affordable housing, and entrepreneurship. Teaches food preservation, computer, and social media skills to the community.
Owner & Real Estate Consultant — J.L. Moore Realty, LLC (1995–Present)
Provides real estate services, consulting, and property management.
Technology Coordinator / Computer Support Analyst — Indianapolis Public Schools (Broad Ripple HS) (1986–1996)
Responsible for all technology use and implementation for a school of 1,500 students, 200 staff, and 600+ computers across four labs. Guided teachers on technology integration; trained staff and students on Windows and MS Office.
Online Services Coordinator / Instructor — Cornerstone Properties / New Life Learning Center (1996–1997)
Developed and designed a young adult training and development program at the Computer Learning Center (CLC) for a government-funded, inner-city low-income apartment community. Trained volunteers; counseled students on workplace readiness.
Family Nutrition Program Assistant — Purdue University Extension (2012–2013)
Provided nutrition awareness and education to senior community members with limited financial resources.
